Writing a fanfic and stuck on where exactly a character was born? In a roleplay and wondering what the limits of your character's powers are? Can't find the information in the source material, or through the use of Google-fu? Well, that's where we come in. At canon_details, we answer your questions about canon for almost any fandom (provided, of course, that people who know the canon are reading your question). You can ask about canon facts, whether or not a situation in fanfic is plausible, characterization, or you can ask about different interpretations of canon.
This shouldn't have to be said, but please, no flaming. Even if someone asks an obvious question that they should be able to find the answer to themselves, be polite when answering. Sometimes people have brainfarts and overlook the obvious. Likewise, all discussion should be civil. I don't want to have to break up any flame wars.
No questions about real-world details (historical facts, what certain injuries do to the human body, etc). That's what little_details is for. If you ask these questions, you will be sent there.
The posts will be sorted by fandom in the Memories and by tag, so please check there before posting a question. Your question may already be answered.
Don't get upset if no one can answer your question. It all depends on who joins the community and what fandoms they participate in - if there is no one around to answer your question, it is unfortunate, but not our fault.
It would be a good idea to check here - if your fandom is not on the list, then there is a good chance that either no one in the community is part of that fandom, or the people who are do not feel qualified to answer questions about it. If you think you know enough to answer questions on your particular fandom, and it's not listed, please comment with the name of your fandom and it will be added to the list.
Please make sure you've checked the original source material and Google to make sure you cannot answer your question by yourself. Being lazy is not an excuse for not being able to find information.
Please use an LJ-cut for the following things: pictures, topics that would not be considered safe for work (sex, rape, violence, etc.), spoilers, and posts that take up more than half a page.
When making a post, please include the name of the fandom you are inquiring about in the subject. Include ALL fandoms you are asking about.
Do not delete comments or posts. If you've already asked a question that's been answered, let the mod take care of it. If someone is harassing you in comments, go to the mod. If you feel like you've made a fool of yourself and want to backpedal, then either suck it up and admit that you made a mistake or leave, because passive-aggressive behavior is not welcome.
Follow these rules, and we should all get along just fine. And remember, ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for breaking them.
